Nokia Twin-Screen smartphone a possibility
Nokia’s ‘The Way We Live Next‘ conference in Espoo, Finland has started to heat up, as the second day of show-and-tell gets under way. One thing to emerge that looks amazing is the possibility of a Nokia smartphone with two screens! Find out more about the Nokia Twin-Screen smartphone after the jump…
Nokia N900 starts to ship!
It looks like the wait for the Nokia N900 is finally over, as Nokia CEO, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, has told the world at large that the new tablet has started to ship from Nokia’s factories this morning, so will be with us in the next week or so. This is exactly the kind of good news we were hoping for. Find out more about the Nokia N900 starting to ship after the jump…
Nokia working on indoor satnav
Satellite phones don’t work indoors (scriptwriters for 24 take note) but it looks like Nokia might just have found a way to get GPS-like navigation going behind closed doors.
Never again do you have to risk not finding the toilet in time in a strange house in the middle of the night. It also has other practical uses too – like helping you hone in on products in the supermarket without the need to ever talk to the sales staff.
Point and find ready to go – soon (exclusive)
We’ve just been talking to a Point and Find insider who tells us the service is all set to launch in the US and UK. Initially it’ll only be available on the N95. Movies are going to be top of the agenda, too, our man tells us that there’s plenty of material tagged and ready to get the service up and running in a pretty convincing way.
Oh, we didn’t mention that earlier did we? The service works by having images pre-tagged, so when a user finds something, the service knows what it actually is.
Nokia to release Point and Find within months
Remember Point and Find? Revealed first at last year’s The Way We Live Next conference. Well, it’s about to hit our devices any time soon. According to Teppo Paavola we’ll be seeing Point and Find in the next few months.
The service works simply by using your phone’s camera at specific objects (for example, a movie poster) and it’ll give you back information about it. Want to know more about that movie poster? Simply point your phone’s camera at it and hit search, and let your phone do the rest.
