Comes with Music, building a library part 3

If you WANT to pay for something, you can. Quick, click on the Comes With Music button again! It was always going to be a tricky one, given the volume of Irish present under the artists in C, but this is a full challenge so there’s only one way to start. With Chopin. I only have one piece of work by Chopin in my collection from the “baby need’s lullaby compilation we picked up when we were expecting our first child (it put me and my wife to sleep when we put it one – haven’t played it since). Anyway, a search for “Cradle song”, for that is the title of my single Chopin ditty, turned up 199 results, none of which seem to be associated with the great man himself. Searching for Chopin turned up little else and a search for both got me no closer. Perhaps it’s my piddly knowledge of classical music that’s holding me back. Still, I’m scoring this one down.

Yesterday we met a bunch of guys who’s job it is to break phones. Kevin Smith and Robert Johnson, who work at Nokia’s relability labs in Nokia’s UK HQ reckon if they don’t break phones, they’re not doing their job properly. Sounds easy doesn’t it. After all, I don’t seem to have much trouble killing mine (though I have to admit, it’s been a while since I’ve had one collapse completely). But no, these guys do it the sophisticated way. They have machines that can press a keypad 1 million times, a device made of denim that spins around to simulate the way we (or at least I) rub my phone’s screen on my jeans to clean it. They have even cracked the hardest one of all – an abrasion test to simulate the inside of a woman’s handbag. And no, I didn’t put my hand inside.

Comes with Music, building a library part 2

I only have one track from the great composer, Bach, but it’s still worth a look on Comes with Music as a little bit of classical music is always worth having, plus it’ll give me a chance to check out a whole other category on the service. There’s nothing like learning and I’ve just learned that Bach never actually released an album – I think all that happened long after he moved on. Still, 15 singles are on offer, but no sign of my copy of Sarabande from French Suits No 5. Undeterred, a quick track search finds it, without any sign of the great man himself. Still.
