Google Buzz for Symbian
Spurred on by the interest generated by free turn-by-turn navigation on Ovi Maps 3.03, Google has incorporated Google Buzz into its Google Maps 4.0 software, and it’s on its way to a Symbian phone near you. Google Buzz – a social networking tool that aims to let you keep in touch with friends using your Nokia – isn’t quite so useful as the turn-by-turn navigation, but added as a layer in Google Maps, it will let you keep tabs on your friends. To find out more, read on after the jump…
As a social networking utility, Google Buzz gathers together all of your contacts from Google Mail, and lets you create dedicated friend lists. You’ll be able chat to your friends in real time, in a similar fashion to MSN Messenger. Offering enhanced photograph and video playback, Google Buzz is perfect for today’s connected world.
As well as static content, Google Buzz is capable of working in tandem with your Nokia’s GPS chip, letting you know when your friends have uploaded or tagged nearby content.
You’re not just restricted to Hotmail content either. Google Buzz helps you to upload videos to YouTube, and photographs or drawings can be uploaded to Google Picassa.
Already available for Android, and the Apple iPhone, and as a layer in Google Maps 4.0, it’s also coming soon to Symbian S60 as an independent download.
To download Google Maps 4.0 with Google Buzz on your Nokia, visit m.google.com/maps on your handset’s internet browser.
