Nokia N900 works with PS3 controller
It seems like not a week goes by without some clever hacker finding something unusual to do with their Nokia N900, and the device itself is proving more versatile than ever. The latest hack is the ability to hook up a Bluetooth PS3 controller, and play your Nokia N900 games with complete control. Read on after the break to find out more…
The Nokia N900 has proved to be a genuinely impressive smartphone over the past couple of months, with seemingly no limit to what it’s capable of. The Open Source Maemo 5 operating system means that users can tweak to their hearts content, and the results have been astounding.
From running a full version of the Mac OS X operating system, to running the Android OS from rival smartphones, to playing 3D games like Duke Nukem, it appears that the Nokia N900 is only limited by the imagination of those developing applications for it.
The latest hack – the ability to use a full PS3 controller via Bluetooth – is likely to prove particularly appealing to those who’ve already invested time getting Duke Nukem to run, as the 6-axis control of the PS3 controller looks a lot easier to handle than a touchscreen and QWERTY keypad combo.
While the PS3 controller is too bulky to carry around with you, this hack does mean you’ll be able to hook up your Nokia N900 to your TV and use it as a mini games station, and with the ability to emulate SNES games there should be no end to the entertainment.
