Nokia N900 for £30 – the best price around?
The Nokia N900 is Nokia’s flagship product. The outstanding operating system and excellent features come at a price, however, as it’s quite an expensive handset, even on a contract. We’ve managed to find it for just £30 a month, however, making it something of a bargain. Is this the best price currently available for the Nokia N900? Read on after the jump to find out more…
The Nokia N900 is one of the best smartphones we’ve seen to date, with an impressive 3.5-inch screen, excellent QWERTY keyboard and better usability than most of its rivals. The Maemo 5 operating system is a revelation, proving capable of almost anything, yet also proving really easy to use. We’ve seen 3D games run on the Nokia N900, and even a fully-featured version of Mac OS X, highlighting that this really is one of the best phones on the market.
It’s understandable that you’d want a Nokia N900, then, but until recently you’d have had to pay a price that reflects this phone’s high-end status. Shop around, however, and there are now some fantastic deals to be had.
The Carphone Warehouse is currently selling the Nokia N900 for free with a £30 a month contract – which gets you a handset with 32GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi, a touchscreen display and a sliding QWERTY keypad. We think it’s a bit of a bargain, but would like to hear your opinions. Would you buy the Nokia N900 for £30 a month, or have you seen it for even less? Let us know.

I’d just like to point out that i’ve never hear of this variant you’ve got got detailed from the Carphone Warehouse. As an N900 owner i know it has:
A resistive touch screen
32 GB internal storage: officially expandable to 48GB with a 16GB card.
My N900 broke after 6 weeks of use. The micro USB fell out and it is now unusable. Nokia said they won’t fix it because I have abused my device – when in fact it’s never been dropped/abused in any way. At the end of the day they’ve put in a bad choice of component, and i won’t stop until they fix it for free…

I got mine on vodafone for £30 a month, 24 month contract, free phone, unlimited text and net and 300 mins. I then got £30 cashback and £90 for trading in my N82, so taking the £120 off the contract over two years means Im paying £25 per month. A bargain for this phone.
Managed to get it for £350 a couple of weeks ago unlocked, unbranded, device only
£500 retail
- £50 (10% voucher code)
- £100 cashback
Also returned previous N958Gb to mazuma mobile (very impressive service – recommended) for £123 making net cost about £225
Purchased from Nokia retail via quidco
Continuing my £10/month contract with 3 which whilst now on rolling 30 days includes enough minutes for me (250), textx (150) and data (1Gb FUP)
Unfortunately the deal has now ended, but quidco have had similar offers just a few months ago so highly recommended keeping an eye out.
The voda contracts on the nokia retail site don’t look too bad either — just think hard about getting a mobile data tariff — I think you’re missing out with a device like this if you don’t take a data option which on some tariffs may add £5 or so. Check,.
This is definitely not the cheapest:
I bought my Nokia N900 from the (10 day slow SimplyElectronics) for £440. I also picked up the Sim Only 12 month contract from T-Mobile (600 minutes any network any time, 500 text messages any network any time) + Internet booster (unlimited downloads = 1GB downloads) all for £15. The Internet booster is flexible and can change to six other options every month.
£440 + (£15*12) = £620
The problem I have with all new contracts with most mobile service providers, is that they are tying people into 24 month contracts and that is ridiculous.
Noo
carphone warehouse £25 pm 600m 500 txts, data but £50 toward the phone…….best deal i’ve found so far, shame its tmob lol

I’ve got mine from Nokiaretail.co.uk for 24 months contract, free phone, 25/month (includes internet) on vodafone. very happy with it!

Er those specs are a little wrong, n900 has 32gb of storage and a resistive screen (which is amazing and personally i think loads better than capacitive screens, more control)
Otherwise yes its fantastic bargain, though youd ideally need mobile internet too! Have been telling everybody to get this phone, its absolutely fantastic
