Nokia N900 Firmware Update v1.2009.44.1

Use your Nokia N900 to control your PS3Those of you with a Nokia N900 who have been eagerly awaiting a firmware update will have to wait no longer, as Nokia has released a small update in the form of Version 1.2009.44.1. The Nokia N900 proved more innovative than the vast majority of its rivals – check out the Nokia N900 review if you don’t believe the hype – but there’s always room for improvement.

The Nokia N900 Firmware Version 1.2009.44 update is available for free, in all of the countries that the Nokia N900 is available to buy. This isn’t expected to be a large update, more of a minor maintenance and bringing a little more stability to the OS.

The software update for the Nokia N900 is available as a regular over-the-air update – simply make sure your N900 is connected to the internet, and you’ll receive a notification in the device’s status area. You’ll also be able to download the update using your laptop or PC – syncing and updating the software using the Nokia Software Update application.

The update for the Nokia N900’s Maemo operating system prepares the handset for opening the Ovi Store, but we’re not yet sure if it has anything else to offer.

Available now, remember to back up all your contacts and other essential files before carrying out the update – just in case you need to reset the phone.
