Nokia N900 lands at Carphone Warehouse stores 26th December

Nokia_N900We’ve been following the Nokia N900 ever since we first heard about it back at Mobile Congress almost a year ago. Since then we’ve gone on to see it progress from mere speculation, right up to the real thing complete with videos and hacks. Nevertheless, the Nokia N900 is officially landing, after much delay, in the UK. Read on after jump for more details.

Nokia has confirmed today that its Maemo 5 powered Nokia N900 will  available at Carphone Warehouse stores from the 26thDecember – Boxing Day, in case you didn’t know! In addition to this, the Nokia N900 will also be from Vodafone stores from the 7th January 2010.

Contracts for Nokia’s new flagship device start at £35 on a 24 month contract, with both retailers taking pre-orders now. You can also pre-order it from www.shop.nokia.co.uk too.

As everyone knows, the N900 is powered by the Linux-based Maemo 5 operating system, which allows for a PC-like web browsing experience, four customisable home screens, the running of up to 21 programs at once, and advanced gaming capabilities.

In addition to this, the N900 has a potential 48GB of on board storage, a 5 mega-pixel camera, Adobe Flash Player 9.4, a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and one of the sleekest looking chassis currently doing the rounds.
