Nokia 5800: Firmware Version 31.0.008 Update

Nokia 5800 gets firmware updateThe Nokia 5800 has just received a firmware update taking the Symbian S60 smartphone to Firmware Version v31.0.008. This update version helps fix a number of known bugs and also helps improve the overall sensitivity of the touchscreen. Chekc out the Nokia 5800 Firmware Version 31.0.008 update for yourself…

The Nokia 5800 has received a firmware update to Version 31.0.008 and this posted has been notified on Nokia Software Updater for all Europen countries and should be rolling wider afield over the next few days. It’s worth bearing in mind that updates aren’t country by country but are by batch number, so you may find that while the update has hit your country you won’t be able to take advantage of it straight away.

We’re not aware of any changelog at this time but a couple of people have commented that Touch Sensitivity has been improved and no doubt there have been a number of bug fixes in this update too. We’ve not received an update yet but we’ll be checking out the NSU until we do so.

Remember you can update your Nokia 5800 via OTA (Over The Air), or you can always download using the Nokia’s Software Updater using you Windows laptop. Before you do so, backup all your files and folders, just in case the worst should happen.

The new firmware seems really fast to me. Nice.
The other good news is that the BBC IPlayer (including downloads) is not broken by the FW update!

Yeah, i’m the UK on the 3 Network with a Red %800, still no sign of this update. i know it doesn’t seem major, but I want it all the same – there are a few bugs with FW 30, which mine came with. And I wouldn’t mind a more sensitive touchscreen!

Anyone have any ideas what nokia are doing? Or is 3 the culprit with the no-UK release?
