Nokia hints at future Booklet 3G releases!

Nokia Booklet 3G won't be aloneIs Nokia about to launch further Booklet 3G mini-laptops? It certainly looks as though the Nokia Booklet 3G won’t be the only one of its kind. It seems the feedback being gathered from the initial reaction to the Nokia Booklet 3G is already being accessed and integrated into the ‘next’ Nokia Booklet 3G. How, do we know? Join us after the jump and find out…

The Nokia Booklet 3G has only just been announced but Nokia is already looking at developing and expanding on the initial launch. How do we know? Well, hints have been made by the Nokia Booklet Team that there is more to come.

Ever since the Nokia Booklet 3G broke cover we’ve been following the rather heated debate over on Nokia Conversations. It’s the usual discussion about spec versus price and whether the Nokia Booklet 3G is really going to be the mini-marvel we’re hoping it to be.

However, it seems we’re not the only ones watching this conversation unfold as someone called John from the Nokia Booklet Team has posted a comment on there:

‘Great feedback here! Thanks! As you may imagine, balancing portability, power, performance, price and whatever other “p” you can think of to build a winning product is as much art as science.

While we think we have a great first product (and hope you try it and agree), I would be the first to admit that we can do more. So rest assured that your input has been duly noted, and we will do our best to live up to your expectations. Please keep the suggestions coming. Best Regards, John’

Now, could this John be John Hwang, the head of Nokia’s laptop business, and the man in charge of making the Nokia Booklet 3G a success? There’s no way of knowing at this point. However, what is said, particularly the part about being ‘a great first product‘ would suggest there is more to come!

Will this take the form of a more entry-level netbook, so bringing the price down, or would it be a more powerful machine still, making it more a fully-fledged laptop? We’ll have to wait and see but it sounds like Nokia is about to looking to turn up the heat up on its laptop division and take the computer manufacturers on at their own game! How great would that be – a whole range of Nokia Booklet 3G devices?

Sounds exciting! Great for the business people on the go, the battery life and sleek design are particularly appealing. Perfect for editing and updating PowerPoint presentations on the go, if it has Microsoft Software?

I can use a netbook now though.

The ASUS 1005HA may be small… really small but do not underestimate the power of 802.11G, 2 logical CPU’s and Windows XP Home in a 1.1Kg package!

I use my netbook on a daily basis now at home and in the office. At home I connect my little netbook to a Samsung PN63B550 63-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV and watch streaming video from YouTube. During the day at work, I use the netbook to send instant email updates to my team members during meetings.

I ran some benchmarks and give more detail in this review: http://bit.ly/44CHFm
