Nokia BH-905 Stereo Bluetooth Headset Review
The Nokia BH-905 Stereo Bluetooth Headset is very much a state-of-the-art headset that manages to deliver noise cancellation technology and Bluetooth connectivity in one handsome package. We took a quick hands-on recently, but now we’re here to give the verdict on the audio quality of Nokia BH-905 Stereo Bluetooth Headset in our full review…
The Nokia BH-905 Stereo Bluetooth Headset is a great looking product that also manages to be the most feature-rich Bluetooth headset out there. The headset makes the most of the latest in microphone technology by sporting ten miniature microphones – eight for capturing sounds, with the other two used for capturing speech.
The good news is that the Nokia BH-905 Stereo Bluetooth headset is a lot smaller in real life than the press photos had led us to believe. The cans sit just over the ears, rather than engulfing them, which is far more comfortable. The crossbar is solid but a cushioning effect on the top of the head, with the result being you won’t find these headphones slipping when out and about.

The left-hand can has a port to re-charge the battery, which uses the same mini-charger as the Nokia 5800 or Nokia 6303, for example. More importantly, you’ll also find a switch marked ANC. This stands for Anti-Noise Cancellation and activates the ten microphones built into the headphones that help filter out all the extemporaneous noise.

Noise cancellation technology is supplied by audio experts Wolfson Microelectronics. We found the noise cancellation works exceedingly well. We tested the Nokia BH-905 Stereo Bluetooth headset out and about on the daily commute, as well as at home and found the results really promising. At home we were listening to Morrissey’s ‘Southpaw Grammar‘ on the Nokia 5800 through the headphones while standing in front of a blaring home stereo (The Hold Steady ‘Stay Positive‘) and heard almost nothing.
Sure, there was the odd sound cutting through but that was through sheer volume as opposed to any problems with the headphones. Out and about, you’ll find that all background noise is immediately cut out. The sound quality of the headphones is nice and bassy with plenty of warmth to the audio quality.
On the right-hand side of the headphones you’ll find a whole host of easy-to-use buttons. For music, you can Play and Pause, as well as skip forward and backwards. If you hold the skip button down you can even scroll through the track to find your favourite bit – the buttons work that smoothly!
When it comes to using the Call functions of the headset, you can use voice dialling, which works really well simply by holding the phone button down on the right-hand headphone. Nokia has put together an amazing headset with the Nokia BH-905 Stereo Bluetooth. We found it incredibly easy to get to grips with, audio quality is stunning and the battery life more than realistic.
Good things don’t come cheap, though, and the Nokia BH-905 Stereo Bluetooth headset has an estimated price of around £250 (inc. VAT). However, a quick check online and we managed to find them over at Play.com for £169 (inc. VAT) delivered, so it pays to having a shop around.
Nokia seems to have thought about everything with the Nokia BH-905 Stereo Bluetooth headset and while people will no doubt complain about the price, there really is no other headset out there delivering what we have in the Nokia BH-905 Stereo Bluetooth.

Now they are some nice looking earphones. I may even look into getting some of those beasts.
If I can find them in Australia that is.
Steve
Any idea of when these will be available in the states?

Had mine for a a week now.. Got them from sweden for about 150£. I have high ends phone like Senheisser HD650 and Stax and this are my portable. They have realy good sound and the noise cancelation are great. All in all highly recommended, goes well with my 6700.
Wondering
I\’ve been waiting for these to be released for a while to hear from people who have used them how compatible they are with an iPhone 3GS over Bluetooth. Now that they have been released, I still can\’t find this information to make an informed purchase decision – and I\’m itching to try them out.
Two questions:
1) has anyone out there tested all the control functionality over Bluetooth since the iPhone firmware upgrade 3.1? (eg. pause, skip & pause song, voice control, etc) or found a reviewer who has?
2) if all the functionality doesn\’t work now, how likely is it that the BH-905 headset will get a firmware upgrade to become fully compatible? (eg. do the headsets have the capability to be firmware upgraded and does Nokia often release upgrades)
Thanks!

This should great but how does the sound quality compare with top end headphones not just BT ones and/or with other noise cancelling cans?
