Nokia Booklet 3G mini-laptop launches!
After months of speculation, the Nokia Booklet 3G has launched! This mini-laptop packs in everything we hoped it would, from 3G/HSPA for super-fast internet connectivity, as well as a 10-inch screen that supports HD video playback! What’s more, it promises to deliver a stunning 12-hour battery life. Check out the Nokia Booklet 3G for yourself and be prepared to be amazed…
The idea of a Nokia Netbook started back in February, and like everything in life, good things come to those who wait. What’s more, another rumour from a couple of weeks ago suggested Nokia would be adding to its naming conventions with the C Series and X Series. A third option was Booklet, which seems to have come true in the form of the Nokia Booklet 3G.
Nokia has played a smart move with the launch of the Nokia Booklet 3G, after all, it may take a few of its design cues from the current crop of netbooks but the Nokia Booklet 3G is most definitely a cut and thrust above them all – making this a fully connected mini-laptop.
What makes it stand out? For starters, the Nokia Booklet 3G is all about connectivity. So, you’ll find 3G/HSPA and Wi-Fi built-in, to deliver the user the best service no matter where they are, making this more user-friendly and versatile than a netbook. Then there are the pre-loaded Ovi services, all of which work seamlessly with the Windows 7 OS.
Built around a truly stunning 10-inch screen, this glass HD ready panel (1366 x 768 pixels) allows you to watch great content in style. The Nokia Booklet 3G also comes with an HDMI-out for port HD video performance to your HD TV, a front facing web-cam for video calling, integrated Bluetooth and SD card reader.
What’s more, this is the first device of this size we’ve ever heard of to sport A-GPS, which is linked with Ovi Maps, so you can pinpoint your position in seconds and map out what you need to be! The Nokia Booklet 3G comes with a host of other Ovi functions too, such as using Ovi Suite to synchronise sweetly with your Nokia smartphone, or gain straight access to Nokia Music Store.
Nokia isn’t letting slip what the overall spec will be, other than we can expect an Intel Atom CPU ticking things over. However, opting for Windows as a base operating system seems a logical step for a first time device. After all, it’s the most common OS out there, and when Asus tried to bring its budget Linux OS to the Eee PC that was shunned by consumers.
It’s clear Nokia isn’t trying to compete with standard netbook vendors, as the Nokia Booklet 3G isn’t about hitting the lowest price point. Instead, the Nokia Booklet 3G is all about connectivity and getting the best always-on experience when out and about.
Sadly, we’ll need to wait until Nokia World 2009, taking place in Stuttgart on September 2, to find out the full specification, price and more importantly, when the amazing Nokia Booklet 3G will actually be in our hands. However, after then we have a feeling things may just never be the same again!

I like the way it looks and at 1.25kg with 12hrs of battery life, you really can\’t go wrong. I use my Dell Studio 1535 laptop for university and it can feel quite heavy at times. I\’d much rather carry a lightweight mini-laptop than a heavy full-sized laptop. I just hope Nokia\’s Booklet 3G isn\’t too pricey.
I like the looks. I’ve been using Nokia for many, many years now. I\’m pretty sure I will have this one. thanks for this ad.
this looks nice. I can always count on Nokia, so I\’m pretty sure I will buy one.
