What we want to see in Microsoft Office Mobile
Earlier this week Nokia and Microsoft announced a major league partnership that will see the software giant bringing its Microsoft Office Mobile suite to Nokia’s range of Symbian-powered smartphones. Think on-the-go working made much, much easier. So, what would we like to see coming out of this team-up from the big boys? Read on and we’ll tell you.
Microsoft and Nokia are playing their cards fairly close to their chest regarding what’s coming up. It seems that the first piece of software to emerge from the partnership will be Microsoft Office Communicator Mobile. This lets you keep in touch with workmates via IM and more, but it’s not really a game-changer.
What we really want to see, and as soon as possible, is a proper suite of Microsoft Office applications, allowing us to create and properly edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents. Quickoffice delivers a lot of this already, but it’s a far cry from having access to a streamlined and fully-featured set of Office tools tailor-made for our Nokia smartphone.
We’d also like to have the ability to share these documents with workmates and have updates automatically pushed to our phone. So basically we’d have collaborative documents that we could all work on together, seeing each other’s updates added in real time.
How about you? What would you like to see come out of the Nokia-Microsoft partnership? Let us know in the comments box below.

Let’s face it; the business world revolves around the Microsoft Office suite. So having Office software available on smart phones will be a godsend to busy individuals who are always on the move, no longer restricting them to the confines of the office. It will be particularly useful on road to important meetings as it will allow PowerPoint users to flick through slides and view notes to practice their presentations, or even edit and tweak their PowerPoint files on their morning commute or business trip.
