The Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is a bright and fresh take on the Nokia E75 design and will ship in a range of bright colours. The 2.4-inch screen and Symbian S60 3rd Edition OS, makes this a great messenger but it is the inclusion of a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that makes this a potential killer device. Giving it a retro feel are the dot matrix letters on the keys, giving the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic a sense of fun.

We’re expecting big things from this small device. So much so, we named it one of the Top Five Smartphones of 2009. You can pre-order this phone for £289 (inc. VAT) but at the moment only the red/black variant is on offer, which suggests that networks may well be offered unique and exclusive colours.
There is no mention of when the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic will start shipping but with it appearing on the pre-order page, surely we can expect it to arrive within the next few weeks? What do you think, is this the device for those who like the idea of the Nokia E75 but want something a little more consumer focussed? Let us know in the Comments below.

I’d hazard a guess that we’ll get the monochrome version, maybe even under exclusive to a telco, so hang fire on that switch to lesser handsets

I’ve been waiting four months for this handset, and when it finally does appear, the UK is the only country in Europe to NOT get offered the monochrome version.
I’d order one from France but I’m not sure if it will have a different keyboard (AZERTY instead of QWERTY?), so sod it. It’s time to consider an LG, HTC or Samsung handset. Four months is long enough, and I refuse to carry a garish bright red handset around just because I’m fed up with waiting.
