N-Gage: Dance Fabulous review
Dance Fabulous has been put together by Nokia, Interscope Records and the Eurythmics Dave Stewart and is being described as a cross-service game. It’s a game that allows you to create an avatar and the idea is to use the direction arrows on your Nokia to dance along to the rhythm of the backing tracks. Check out how we got on with Dance Fabulous with our full on review…
Dance Fabulous is the creation of Nokia Music, Interscope Records and Dave Stewart and introduces Cindy Gomez, an artist in here own right, who has her own dancing Gomez avatar and a number of songs bundled with the game.
The idea is to dance along with the music, using the directional arrows on your Nokia phone to create ever more complex dance moves. There are different locations for you to dance in, which you can only access by unlocking them. This means getting your groove on and working steadily through the levels.
You get star points by working up dance routines by using the arrow keys on your Nokia phone, the more points you get the more chances you have of opening new stages, dance styles and outfits. It’s this evolution of your character that gives the game a slight edge over Guitar Hero say, which simply gets faster and harder.
Once you’ve completed a stage, you can move into a more ‘Dance Matt’ style section whereby you have to follow pre-set dance moves. In truth, once you’ve mastered the art of matching your moves with the rhythm, you’ve pretty much mastered the game.
We confess that this game left us baffled, why would anyone in their right mind want to play this game? That said, this isn’t a game aimed at adults at all and is an excuse for pre-teens to get hold of your N-Gage Nokia for a while. Which is something that happened in our house, as my daughter is the one who played and tested the game – the above points come from her.
She found Dance Fabulous a great deal of fun and has been playing it constantly for the last week with no sign of letting up – the Star Rating is also from her, by the way!
