The Nokia N97 is set to be unleashed on the world and it seems the United States may well be the first country to get their hands on the new phone, as the Nokia N97 is now up for pre-order for the sum of $699. Vodafone may have got its holding page up first, but this is the real deal in terms of price and be the pre-order we’ve been waiting for.

The Nokia N97 is set for launch in June but we’re not likely to see handsets start to roll out until July at the earlier. The Nokia N97 will be Nokia’s second touchscreen device and runs the S60 5th Edition operating system, which makes the most of the touchscreen display.

Along with getting itself a pre-order page and the pricing of $699, the Nokia N97 has also gotten itself a micro-site giving us all a little more info on what we can expect from the device, such as how to personlise the screen, or make the most of the QWERTY keyboard.

What’s more, you can order yourself either a Black or a White Nokia N97, both of which look rather swish compared to the plain grey we got our hands on a few weeks back.

While this is all great news for Nokia fans in the States, it has left a rather empty feeling in our stomachs as we want to see how the Nokia N97 will roll out in the UK – how much will it finally cost and will we get the same rollout?
