Nokia E97 Envelope ‘concept’ phone

Is this the Nokia phone we all want to see? It’s called the Nokia E97 ‘Envelope’ and has been designed by Parisian ID student, and soon-to-be design star, Fabien Nauroy.

The dual-orientation phone looks like it would have a pull-out LED screen and goes by the name of the Nokia E97 Envelope. Take a look at the images on the next page and you’ll see why…

The Nokia E97 Envelope ‘concept’ design has to be one of the most thought provoking and imaginative designs to come down the line in a long time. It’s not so much that it’s just a flight of fancy – take a look at the pics and you’ll see that he’s put together how it’d fit together.

Fabien Nauroy has put together a Nokia concept phone that seems to mix function, form and desirability together in one package – and we don’t think we’re alone at being in awe over this design. After all, design site Core 77 picked up this young Parisian’s design and showcased it. We think it looks absolutely fantastic. It has a pull-out LED screen that allows you to share webpages or photos of friends with others as though it was a printed page.

Then there is the attention to detail, with how the phone would fit together. There is also space for what looks like twin-SIMs, or maybe the second is the expansion card – it’s a concept so who knows?

Will it ever get made? Highly unlikely but it’s just made out day and no doubt made Nauroy’s reputation!

E97 is not produced yet, and most likely won’t be in the near future. It is not even on official Nokia sites… All the above is merely a concept design, and not a production prototype. Sad to say that, but trying to answer those waiting for arrival date or market price… N900 will be the revolutionary being Linux based, but unfortunately not matching the attractive beyond all standards E97 Envelop concept design.
