Contacts on Ovi released

Contacts on Ovi has been released by the guys over at Nokia Beta Labs. Contacts on Ovi allows you to locate and chat with your friends using your Nokia mobile. What’s more, if you’ve already used Nokia Chat then you’ll be familiar with the concept and the layout as the two share many similarities.

To use the service, all you need is to have a registered Nokia account or you can create one when you install the application. Your friends will also need to be registered with the service for them to show up and share media rich features of Contacts on Ovi.

You’ll find you’ll be able to tell whether your friends are online or not with a simply glance. You can share personalised Instant Messages with a host of emoticons, voice and location messages.

What’s more, if you’re the type who likes to share what they’r into at the moment, you can let your friends know your top song and movie lists, and even broadcast your important scenes.

Contacts on Ovi is still pretty much in the development stage but if you want to get involved, head over to Contacts on Ovi and see whether your device is compatible and the best way to download the application to your Nok.
