Nokia 5800 officially onsale

The Nokia 5800 officially goes on sale at 8AM in the UK, that gives us just over twelve hours to wait until the first major device of the year finally lands in the hands of the paying public.

We’ll be getting up nice and early to bring you the coverage of the start of the big day, but in the meantime we thought it would be a good idea to recoup what’s on offer for those lucky enough to get through the doors first!

The Nokia Regent Street store will open its doors nice and early at 8AM especially to start selling the first must-have Nok of the year. A full of events have been put together, along with a host of displays and interactive tools that will give you a real sense of what the Nokia 5800 can do.

What’s more, the first 200 people buying the 5800 will receive exclusive content pre-loaded onto their device. There will be a selection of movies from Futureshorts, including Crabs and I met the Walrus.

However, it’s the apps bundled with the device that will get people rocking. Sport Tracker will stop you getting lost, while Touch Guitar and Touch Piana are on hand to show of the music and sounds skills of the 5800. However, it’s the inclusion of Guitar Rock Tour that’ll br the big draw, showing off the gaming prowess of the Nokia 5800.

That’s not all, if you happen to be one of the first 100 – and get there between 8.00am and 8.30am – you’ll also receive tickets to the summer’s hottest music festival – Benicassim in Spain – get there early to avoid disappointment.

There promises to be a host of good stuff happening through the day to coincide with the launch, including street dancer George Sampson, winner of Britain’s Got Talent, with a re-worked version of the club classic ‘Pump up the Volume’. Apparently its been remixed by VV Brown.

The Nokia 5800 will also be available from 10am at the Heathrow Terminal 5 flagship store and online at Nokia Online on Friday 23 January.

The fun starts at 8AM this Friday and you’ll finally be able to get yout hands on the Nokia 5800, for the princely sum of £249 (inc. VAT). It goes on general sale a week later.
