Prepaid Nokia 1650 going for free at Carphone Warehouse
One for the bargain hunters – the Carphone Warehouse has embraced the current price-slashing trend by offering pay as you go phones for absolutely nothing. All you need to do to get your mitts on a brand new Nokia 1650 is to buy £30 worth of credit – do that and the handset comes free!
You also get 30 days of unlimited texts as part of the deal, but clearly the cost-free phone is the highlight. So is the 1650 any good?
Well, as you’d expect from an entry-level model it doesn’t exactly pile on the features. There’s an FM radio tuner built in, plus noise reduction to improve call quality and a long-life battery. Hardly a rival to the N97, then – but hey, what do you expect for nothing? Sounds like it could be a decent Christmas present for a mobile-less family member.
