Handwave touchless Nok interaction app finally released

Tags: Apps, Handwave

Handwave takes the concept of touch to a whole new level by letting you interact with your Nok by just waving your hand in front of the display.

No more sticky paw prints smearing up the screen, but still the ability to control your phone without pressing any buttons and the good news is that it’s finally available to download.

It was announced way back in September, but the beta version is now available to have a play with.

It works by using the front mounted camera to recognise gestures – like moving backward or forward – so you can tell your phone what to do just by waving at it.

Unusually you’ll need to make a donation first to download it – but you can decide how much you want to give. See AikonLab for more information or for a quick video demo, hit play below.

A worthy donation for this application. It’s very clever, even if it only does basic things in portrait mode at the moment. I tested it in Gallery, Music and the menus and works really well. I can’t wait to see it working in all modes (horizontal & portrait), but also with up up or down wave. I will blog about it on my site on the weekend.
