Nokia N97 specifications and hands on

Need to fill your boots on the Nokia N97’s specs? Then look no further as we’ve gathered everything we’ve got right here. Run your finger down the screen as this lot is quite tasty. Behind the 3.5-inch touchscreen sits a bunch of hot tech that’ll ensure this little puppy performs better than anything you’ve ever seen, or used before. The 150g weight isn’t bad either and it feels only marginally bigger than an N95 (though is much slimmer).

We had a fettle with one earlier and it feels soooo good in the hand. There’s still a bit of work to do on it, but it’s already very plush, with a solid feel in the hand and almost perfect action around the hinge area – the start of the movement is still a little harsh, but it sounds like there might still be a bit of tweaking to go on there. Round the back the camera has a cover to keep the lens fresh (cue more lovely gliding action) and it looks (and feels) a bit like the N85.

The footprint isn’t bad, considering what you’ve got in the hand here. Much neater than a Communicator, though bigger than what we’re mostly used to, it’s still very usable in the hand. Now, for the hard core, we have a little treat. Feast your eyes boys…

Trust me – get this in your hands and you won’t prefer the E90. They might share some similarities, but the N97 is on another planet.

Even though Samsung Omnia was released 4 months ago, it continue to be the best phone by performance, applications, and weigh/size.
5MP camera, GPS, Touchscreen, FM radio, 2G/3G, WiFi, Bluettoth, 32 Gb memory.

Personally I bought it because is light, and you can get lot of windows based applications for free on internet.

3xl grow up dumbass, I have loved nokia since the 3310 days, i have got the n95-1 which i love, but since recently being dissappointed by the backstep the n96 has been, I thought bollox to it i’ll look elswhere, I’ve never liked samsung but i now have the omnia which from the box is abit dim software wise and the samsung widget while cute is limited, but I have put mobile shell on it and other softwares to make it my own and how i like it oh and the torch on it!!! no more do I have to rely on my n95 front screen to help me stumble around my factory at night trying to find the exit after lights off the omnia shows so much potential all i need is a nokia txt style app and i’ll be made up! nokia while excellent lacks a few things for me like why the hell don’t the “heads” update the damn t9 I mean, you spend months teaching it all ya ghetto slang then it starts to forget it? limited memory I expect and why cant you edit your t9 words I text fast and occationally fluff a word which gets remembered now the next time I type a word in I gotta scroll passed the 1 I don’t want, trust me its a bug bare, oh and you’ll all agree with me nokia are good at raw dealing us with their new phones they make em shiny with promises of super features but then when we get them out of the box what do we find…..oh its not compatible or needs extra software or oh i gotta pay an extra subscription! e.g dvb tv and maps, i love nokia but i am glad I have my omnia and i’m sure a software upgrade at some point will increase the fps playback, if you like nok good if you like omnia or others good, i’m sure your intellect, lifestyle and finger size are all differing factors that help you to decide which to buy, I also prefer the omnia to the n97, its slimmer and lighter, you’d think nokia could think of a better design it looks like the o2 xda exec i had 3 yrs ago lol and why doesn’t it have an 8 meg camera like the pixon lol I’m sure by the time it has been out a while others will be upto 10 meg oh nokia it shows us what loyalty can do eh well I’m looking forward to coming back to you!!!!

Still only that stupid LED flash. My N79 takes shitty pictures in dark conditions. So I’m only gonna go for a real Xenon flash next time….

Is this phone having better video or it just moves frame by frame? Why it is not having windows as its operating system like all other latest phones? I think it is stupid.

Windblows lover should do more research. If you want serious and functional (and stable) OS, for PC, Phones, etc.. then there are far better alternatives !
Even S60 OS is superior to M$ OS.
Myself I went for an LG Renoir and I have no plan to change it yet. After upgrading the Firmware to the latest, I’m really happy with it (on Three… Avoid Orange !)… The Nokia phones I had, generally start falling apart after 10 to 11 Months! :-x
