Nokia 5800 on sale Dec 1 in Spain – Official!

The 5800 XpressMusic - worth switching for?We can exclusively reveal that the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will be going on sale in Spain on December 1. News comes to us from an official source inside Nokia confirming that Spain will be the first European country to get the device and it’ll be available to Spanish punters on December 1. This coincides with (and explains why) Nokia World, which takes place in Barcelona on December 2-3.

The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, the device formerly known as Nokia Tube is the first proper touchscreen phone to come out of Nokia. It’s not an iPhone competitor (though initial reactions suggest it’ll give it a good run for it’s money) but designed as a mass appeal touchscreen, with a penchant for music.

We had an initial play with it at the launch and loved it. The 3.2-inch widescreen touchscreen shows off S60 5th edition perfectly, which itself has been modified for touch. The 5800 XpressMusic also packs an accelerometer for some fancy features such as screen auto-rotate and flip silent, where you can flip the phone over to silence it. It also packs a 3.2-megapixel snapper.

We’re expecting it in the UK early next year, but if you want an early taste then get yourself down to Spain for December 1 where you can bag one for about 279 Euros.

It’s been well known it’d be coming to Spain first and December 1 has been mooted for a while, but this is official confirmation – in the UK at least.

That’ll be WITH taxes and WITHOUT subsidies then. Crikey. I bet there’ll be a cracking deal in store though – aren’t Telefonica taking it in Spain? And isn’t that the owner of O2 (seller of the iPhone in the UK?)

Those 279€ were without taxes AND without subsides. I was going to buy it, but as soon as I read that the blogs were confirming a week ago that its price was going to be 429€…. No way! We don’t want an increase of 100€ for “free” music downloads.

Yeah, I think nokia is smelling in aple-sh*t idea, it’s now one year sens the nokia start advertising this phone as shy Tube, and two month a go as 5800 xm, now they push for next year and probably is goon to be delayed till mid summer, just like aple did to it’s costumers for one iPhone bath-soap to pull the costumers in overpriced contract’s!
As the delays is going on, the thieves and cheaters hit the internet in the name of nokia 5800, abusing citizens around the world making them pay for it even double the price of the original, and thieves run with their stolen maney!!
There is fake nokia 5800 for sale, I guess chines one , before the original one is released on shops.
