Major N96 update on the way – as early as next week!

Tags: N96, Nokia

The N96 has already had a patch or two so far, but word is that a major software update is on the way to solve any niggling issues that still remain.

The new v12.035 release is apparently already floating around Nokia internally and making its way to Nokia Service Points in preparation for its proper release. It should hit Nokia Software Updater in the next week or so, all being well.

It’s unclear at the moment what all the changes are, but it’s believed that it will address most of the major issues as well as increase the overall speed and stability of the handset. Hopefully it’ll be available as an over the air update too, for hassle free upgrading.

    Thank god for that.

I’m getting to the point where I want to get rid of it. The constant freezing for 20 seconds to reply to a txt message is to fucking much.

Hello All, I have just updated to new firmware over the air. Took five minutes and it seems to be running alot faster now. The Auto rotate screen does it instantly now and does not freeze. Much happier but it still could do with being faster!
