Nokia Comes with Music: 5 ways it beats iTunes
Nokia’s Comes With Music service isn’t just a free music store, it’s an all-powerful iTunes batterer!
Read on to discover five of the ways it teaches Apple a thing or two about the online music game…
You can share tracks
Got a song you know your friends will love? Send it to them using Bluetooth. As long as they’re a Comes With Music customer, they can listen to it. If they’ve got an N95 8GB, their phone will check their account using the mobile network, then let them play it. If they’re using another phone, it’ll hold the track until they plug in to their PC, then unlock it so they can keep it forever!
You don’t need a PC
iTunes will only work on a PC or Mac, and you’ll constantly have to sync with an iPod or iPhone to transfer tracks and playlists. Nokia knows all that is nonsense, so it’s done away with the need for a PC altogether. If you’re using an N95 8GB you can register for Comes With Music and download tracks using nothing but the mobile itself.
Stream wirelessly
All Nokia’s Comes With Music handsets support stereo Bluetooth streaming, so you can use wireless headphones and avoid getting tangled up with wires. Compare that to iTunes and the iPhone, which despite having Bluetooth onboard, won’t let owners use stereo headphones. Ridiculous!
Explore for free
Use iTunes and you’ll commit yourself to emptying your wallet. Comes With Music is free to use after you’ve bought the handset, so there are no hidden charges, just all the music you want without a penny extra, feel free to explore new artists with full tracks, not 30 second clips, and it’s yours to keep for life!
Mix me
Browse a genre using the Nokia Music application, hit Mix Me and it’ll serve up a selection of tracks for you to try. It works when browsing artists too, so you can get a taste for their tunes before downloading them, all free of charge! Try doing that in iTunes!

After reading this I gave it a test drive. The site is pretty cutting edge but it takes some time to load in between screens and takes some getting used to. I’m wondering if they can compete with the overall appeal that Apple does so well with their branding. We’ll have to wait and see.
