I have had my N96 since november 08 and have found bugs that are really unbelievable from the start and not fixed with the 11.018 update. Infact they are so bad they make the N95 more appealing as an upgrade model than this. These are the problems the N96 has that the N95 never had.

1. The wifi is tempremental at best, it either finds the wlan you have setup in the N96 or it doesnt.
When you search for a connection it lists all possibles including the wlan (sometimes), you select that option and then it cant find it, the list comes up again with the wlan, you select it again and it decides that you have chosen 3G, or the list comes up again without the wlan and gives you everything else including searching for the wlan.

2. The bluetooth works in a hit and miss effect when transfering anything compatable from a PC, sometimes it downloads with no problems and other times the PC says it cant find the N96 which could then take you as much as a dozen times before the PC finds the active bluetooth N96 thats just a foot away.

3. The multi functional center button is a bit of a hit and miss to. This button can easily select something other than what you want if your not careful.

4. The contacts default number selection does not work all the time, it will either let you default the number to the contact or it goes back to standby screen.

5. The voicetag is a hit and miss, especialy with new contacts, it wont allocate a voicetag until you get out of contacts and then go back into it, and then it might not do it then either.

6. Music file are either played from first time you access them after immediately transfering them from PC or it does a system error message and then wont let you access any music files.

7. The images are either shown or not when scrolling throught them.

8. Certain error sounds are really ear pearcing and other sounds like ringtones are not so loud even if the volume is as high as you can get it.

9. When backing up or makeing new contacts especially, if you search the memory files for contacts under 'OTHER' there is none listed yet my paresnts 6110 navigator does.

10. The clock time shown in didgital (which i prefer) sometimes looks like its overlaped with the previous time shown (for instance the last minute has the new and old ones showing at the same time) and is only cleared if you select a function the uses all the screen up and then go back to the standby screen.

thats all i can remember for now

Hi, i\'m thinking about getting an unlocked Nokia N96 so i can buy a cheaper pay monthly sim. Will updating the unlocked N96 cause problems as it did when an unlocked iPhone was updated via iTunes? It caused the iPhone to re-lock and restore to it\'s factory settings.

Hey, I wanted to know regarding the N96 update, are there any significant changes as to where I should update it or should I just wait? Because SymbianFreak.Com has said that there are a lot of bugs in the V11 firmware upgrade for N96.

Thanks
