Exclusive: Get BBC iPlayer on your N95. Now.

Watch iPlayer on your N95. Now.Yes, we know that iPlayer is going to be available for the N96 – and we’re very excited about it too. But not as excited as we are about the fact that you can already access iPlayer on your N95 – you just need to know where to look.

Thanks to a tasty tip off from Phil Lewis over at Linuxcentre, it seems that the BBC is already putting out shows in Nok friendly format so you can tap into them now.

Now, just be warned that it’s by no means a consumer friendly process at the moment, as you need to delve deep into the iPlayer files to find the stream, but once you’ve got it you can watch it back without a problem on your trusty N95. If you’re feeling brave, the full deets on working out the stream name are over on the Beebhack wiki.

The quality isn’t as good as the iPhone version as it’s only 320×176 res, not 483×272 but you know what they say about beggars and choosers.

You may know already but the service is running. You just need to install the widset from here http://www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer/iplayer.wgz. Everything is working fine on my N958GB apart from downloads. Downloads seem to be locked to N96s only. Cheers, Paul.
