WalkingHotSpot – another way to turn you Nok into a wireless access point

If you’ve got an unlimited data bundle and you’re looking to tap into from other devices as well as your phone, WalkingHotSpot lets you turn your handset into your very own wireless access point. You can use it with any device that can connect over Wi-Fi – like a laptop or swanky pants MP3 player.

Similar to Joikuspot, all you need to get going is a Wi-Fi enabled Nok and an all-you-can-eat data plan.

Once the software is loaded up and running, simply point your Wi-Fi enabled device in its direction and log on to the hotspot you’ve just created. There are no dongles to mess about with or magic voodoo necessary to get internet sharing working over Bluetooth.

This convenience comes at a price, however – after the seven day trial runs out you’ll need to stump up $6.99 a month or $24.99 a year to carry on using the service. If that still seems like a fair deal, head on over to WalkingHotSpot and get downloading. If you’re more of a cheapskate, you’re probably better off waiting for the free Fon/Joikuspot collaboration to come to fruition.
