Tesco launches Nokia Voip Wi-Fi service
Tesco is branching out from beetroot and bananas with its latest TalkWi-Fi service that promises free Voip calls from your Nok. When you’re in range of wireless hotspot, you can route your calls over Tesco’s service, saving yourself a pretty penny in the process.
It’s currently compatible with the N95, N81, E65 and E51 and all you need to do to get it up and running is download the TalkWi-Fi app to your handset by texting ‘talk’ to 86688 and then sign up for an account.
Calls between TalkWi-Fi customers are free and if you want to speak to someone on a normal number it’s still pretty cheap. If you opt for a PAYG plan then calls cost 10p per minute to mobiles and 2p per minute to landlines. For a monthly sub between £2-6 you can get free off peak, daytime or international calls thrown in too.
If that sounds like your kind of thing, point your browser over at Tesco’s TalkWi-Fi page where you’ll find more info and instructions on how to sign up.
