Fake N79 pics show up in China

It may look like a spy pic of Nokia’s new N79 handset, which is almost probably going to launch on Monday, but apparently it’s not the real deal. The pics show a very good clone of the soon to be launched phone, demonstrating that even unreleased models can still be susceptible to hardware flattery.

Running through all the images over at sjpfw.cn you could be forgiven for thinking you were looking at some sneaky snaps of a bona fide Nokia handset. Sure, some of the icons in the interface pics look a little on the jagged side, but you could put that down to just bad camera skills.

According to Chinese readers of the Boy Genius Report, however, they’re pics of a cloned N79 and not the real thing. Just goes to show that even with unreleased phones you’ve got to keep an eye out. Here’s hoping we can take a look at the real thing on Monday.
