Nokia E71 vs BlackBerry Bold Qwerty keyboard shakedown

It’s a battle of the text tappers – which would win in a straight out fight between Nokia’s E71 and BlackBerry’s Bold? Both come packing full Qwerty keyboards, large screens and the ability to keep you plugged into your inbox 24/7. There are differences too, though, so it’s time to see which is the outright victor.

Boy Genius Report has gone in depth on the matter, with a weighty 2,000 word head-to-head covering everything from design and build quality to email connectivity and software.

The E71 takes an early lead and in other areas it’s pretty much neck and neck with one taking a win here and the other scoring a victory there. It’s only when you get to the end it all turns a bit gloomy. Does the loss of BlackBerry Connect really have such an effect these days in the corporate world? Reading through the article, you’d almost be forgiven for thinking Nokia had walked it until you get to that bit. If you’re happy with the E71’s email abilities, though, it seems the clear winner overall.
