FindMe Facebook app adds S60 support

FindMe ties into your Facebook profile and provides an easy way to let your friends know where you are – useful if you fancy an impromptu meet up every now and then. You add the application to your Facebook page and then download an additional app to your Nok that will then let you tag locations and share where you are with anyone you’re friends with.

The mobile app has been available for Windows Mobile and BlackBerry for sometime, but now S60 handsets can play too. You don’t need a GPS enabled Nok as it uses the mobile network to work out your location – similar to the way Google Maps knows where you are.

You have to tag locations with names – like Home or Work – for them to show up on your profile. If you go somewhere you haven’t tagged yet, then it will simply list your location as unknown. You can also go off grid at any time and only your last location and time is shown – no history is stored.

To install the app, you first need to add it to your Facebook profile by going to this page. Once you’ve got that set up, enter your mobile number and you’ll receive the download link for the mobile app via SMS.
