Nokia promises to reach out and touch everyone

Touchscreen Nok’s won’t just be for the well heeled – there’ll be a touchy feely number for everyone, according to Nokia.

With the launch of the first touchscreen Nok getting ever closer it’s looking like the 5800 XpressMedia – or Tube – will only be the first of many.

According to Anssi Vanjoki, VP of Nokia Markets, there will be touchscreen handsets across the whole range.

“We will introduce products from the very low segment to the highest one featuring this type of functionality,” Vanjoki told Reuters.

Regarding the current handsets on the market, and no doubt one in particular, Vanjoki said:

“Currently, the market for touchscreen products is a niche market. We always aim for a situation where we can cover all the segments with all the options.”

So there you have it – now we just need to sit patiently and wait. Tick, tock, tick, tock…
