N82 to launch this week!

Not content with piddling all over Apple’s fire with the N81 and the N95 8GB, Nokia has decided to release the all-new N82 earlier than expected. Sporting some Apple-spanking specs, the N82 promises to be a whopper of a blower when it hits the streets, probably around April next year. Although there hasn’t been official word just yet, it’s highly anticipated the N82 will get the official reveal this Wednesday at midday.

We believe Nokia initially planned to reveal the 5-megapxiel-toting beast in the new year, but thanks to the actions of some soon-to-be-fired-out-of-a-cannon-developer in Dubai, images of a prototype have been doing the rounds. Naturally we wouldn’t be the kind to repeat them here, primarily because the images are rubbish. Equally we wouldn’t like to elaborate on the rumour that the five-meg snapper will be accompanied by a proper flash, that the phone itself is smaller in size than the newly anointed N81 or even that it has auto-screen rotation. Other facts, sorry, rumours, we won’t be helping to quash are talks of a move to a microUSB charger socket job which will become the connection du jour for the new Nok, just like the new 6500 Classic.

Nokia is staying schtum on all this right now, though check out it’s Apple-esque teaser page. Still, there’s nothing we like better here at NokNok.tv than the smell of new plastic and burning batteries so batten down the hatches and hold onto your seats. Wednesday midday here we come!

Now, do we think the N82 will really be released on Wednesday? Hell yes. Watch this space!

Symbian Freak has the lowdown, including nasty pics. Honest.
