MOSH-Nokia’s share-o-thon service (beta)
The most comprehensive community site ever made for mobiles, MOSH (‘Mobilize and Share’) lets you share anything you like, as well as making friends and finding new content on your Nok or PC. We’re talking an orgy of slick online content at your fingetips. Ooo missus!
Judgement time…
‘Community’ is a word that’s vastly overused. Build a website with a comments section, and its makers will claim they’re fostering a community. They’re not. They’re letting people leave a message, and that’s it.
Nokia’s taken community to a whole new level with MOSH, so as well as boring old comments, you can share photos, videos, audio, documents, applications and even games.
The sole purpose of MOSH is to get people sharing, not just opinions, but quality mobile content. Spend 10 minutes mooching around, and you’ll easily turn it into an hour of browsing. The site’s still in its infancy, but there’s already a wealth of Nokia-specific stuff there, and we love it.
Looking for a new theme for your mobile? Poke around on MOSH and you’ll find some quality offerings, absolutely free. Bored at work? Download a video or two, safe in the knowledge it won’t cost you a penny.
Some mobile operators run services like this on their own mobile portals, but you pay to download content and they take a cut. Nokia’s system is much better, it’s a free for all and means you can scope all sorts of crazy content from other MOSHer’s.
The more you participate, the better your rating, and it ends up being a real time-sapper.
Best of all, the content available on MOSH can be found through a PC or on your mobile, and it’s not a slimmed down version made specifically for the handset – it’s the real deal. Everything’s available on both platforms, as well as commenting and uploading. Now that’s how to build a community.
